School Upgrade Project

The Hoerskool Floors High School is located in Kimerley, South Africa and like so many schools in South Africa is starved of funds and is suffering from the challenges of many, these include an influx of township and informal settlement students, consequential overcrowding, vandalism, racism and poor educational outcomes because of the vandalism and theft.

DBL will install burglar bars on all windows and doors, this will hopefully overcome the theft problem and leave teachers free to teach each day rather than looking for teaching resources and making do with limited equipment. Secondly this project will create a computer facility with 10 desktops and printers, this will allow computer education to commence but is also part of a strategy to create more engagement of the students.
