CHOLMONDELEY HOUSE

Christchurch, New Zealand

Accommodation Reconstruction Project

Cholmondeley House provides respite care to children between the ages of 3 and 12, as well as education to ensure children receive continuance of schooling while in care. They also provide support and referral services to families in need. Children requiring respite do so for many reasons and these include both mental and physical health issues, family violence, financial hardship, natural disaster and bereavement to name just a few. Cholmondeley provides a service available to referral from parents, GP's, teachers and social workers and is available within an hour’s notice.

Cholmondeley House was severely impacted by the 2011 earthquake and their main accommodation building required demolition. DBL provided funding towards the reconstruction of Cholomondeley House.
