School Upgrade Project

The Village is in South Central Turkey in a poor Kurdish farming community. The school was established some 40 years ago and has had little or no money spent on it since that time.  It required major works to bring it to a reasonable standard where education could be delivered by a very committed team. There is strong engagement with local community and a very clear sense of partnership.

 

The project involved a major upgrade of the school that included; general painting and renovation, new sewerage system, rewiring the electrics, a tunnel under the access road for safety reasons, a Basketball/Volleyball Court, new tables and chairs
